Commonly used port numbers

A port is defined as an endpoint to a logical connection and the way a client program specifies a specific server program on a computer in a network. Here we have the commonly used server ports which does not include all possible ports that may be opened on a server. The server port numbers specifies the port used by the server process as its contact port.
